What is HYGGE? 

“A cosy quality that makes a person feel content and comfortable” Hygge, pronounced “hoo-guh”, is a Danish concept that means in essence creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the simple things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Cosying up with a loved one for a movie – that’s hygge, too. And there's nothing more hygge than being wrapped in a soft blanket in front of a crackling fire on your own.

• Atmosphere: As you start your hygge journey, create a safe and comforting environment. Light some candles or dim the lights to give a warm and gentle glow.
• Comfort: Choose seating that encourages relaxation for your peaceful space. You could lounge on the couch and wrap yourself with a warm and fuzzy blanket. Use the hand warmer to keep your fingers nice and toasty before you start your creative process. 
• Presence: Be here now and savor the moment. Put away all distractions and value the time that you have to enjoy ordinary experiences. 
• Nourishment: Enjoy good comfort food or a hot chocolate to bring warmth and delight.
• Mindfulness: Practice gratitude and be thankful for the moments that bring you contentment

In this box we have given you all the tools to fuel that creativity. Whether it be writing your story, writing poetry, your travel memoirs, creating a cute handmade recipe book or knitting or crochet pattern book, filled with some new and maybe some of grandma’s older recipes or patterns, or anything else that you could think of to collect and record beautiful memories in a warm and fuzzy creative way!
